Time for a new Video Card ?

Post by JohnW » Sat May 25, 2013 8:29 pm

I might be looking for a new video card. One of the two fans on my MSI Radeon HD 5700 series card has started making noise, intermittently. rFactor locked up on me, when I tried to shut it down, after our last race, and, I was only getting fps , during the race in the 75-120 range. I'm pretty sure this card has done better , in the past.

So, what's a good card, these days. Considering rFactor 2 is on the horizon, what should I look for ? Obviously, I'm going to check out benchmarks of various chip sets. What are YOU running ? No, I just need a card for ONE monitor.

Anything with 2 gigs of ram will do you fine for many years. I'm kinda looking at the MSI Frozr card right now.

I was looking at the Radeon HD 7790, which has good performance , but I found out they don't have XP drivers. I may step up to the Radeon HD 7850, if I can find a good deal.
