A pair of Subaru racers

Post by JohnW » Fri Mar 15, 2019 6:41 pm

A number of years ago, I meet up with two forum members at California Speedway, where they were in some amateur races. I figured I would wait until I got another few rolls of slide film before I sent these shots off for developing. Then , I went to a digital SLR and didn't buy more film. The roll sat on my desk all this time. The subjects of the shots will say when this was. It could be it was 2011 ! That is about when my camera came out. The issue was that after sitting THAT long, the film lost some quality. I was afraid of that. A bit of editing with Gimp pulled some stuff back, but they aren't tack sharp. At any rate, here are the pictures...

Nice. Nothing like a track day to focus your mind on the moment.

Unfortunately, ONE of these Subaru's when home with a blown head gasket. I believe it was a tow truck ride from Fontana to San Diego, right Thom ?

Yes that was an expensive visit to the track but lots of fun before the mechanical failure. Thanks for posting these pictures.

Sorry I took so long and let the film degrade. I sort of miss shooting slide film.
