2020-2021 Off Season ideas

Post by JohnW »

I'm looking in the Steam workshop for something new to drive during the off season. I have subscribed to a couple cars that are not our normal stuff. One is a 70s era F1 car, which does include the 6 wheel Tyrell car. Another is an old Datsun car. It's got pretty good reviews. Another is a Porche Carrera Cup mod, but you need to get the not free to drive , $6 , cup car from the steam store.

I'll post impressions as I try them out. I would also like to explore tracks. Stuff we may know but don't drive all that often.

Throw out your ideas in this thread.

I was suggesting we extend the current season with Portugal, Nurburgring, and Mugello.
Maybe a new season with current car and new tracks.
The Datsun Bluebird is a nice car.
Indy cars could be fun.
Bathurst please!
A few ideas to consider. I personally do not like breaks. I wish we raced year round.

The issue I run into is finding cars that get people to show up. Not everyone likes the same thing. Personally, I like to try new things. Maybe I don't suck as bad and the fast guys haven't figured them out yet. It never works out that way. Last years off season cars were a lot of fun and sounded really cool, but I was lucky to get 5 or more drivers. No one new to the league ever showed, which is always one of my goals. Attract new talent.

I would do an Indy series! Sounds like a good idea. Let's maximize our rFactor2 software!

I haven't scheduled anything yet. Researching Assetto Corsa and waiting to hear from a new race server host. I can load something up on the current server. It's good through the end of the year.

I just want to make sure people will show up for what ever it selected. I'll send the most recent suggestions out on an e-mail and get some response. If it's good, I'll see if anyone at SRH want's to jump in.
