What are good times here for this track? Looking for full fuel times not those alien qual times you guys have managed to put up this year so far. Just want to get an idea how how far in the back of the pack ill end up.

Shabo,

We ran a pre-season race at Spain and I reported on the results in that link above.

1:24 may be an average race lap.

In case anyone is going to test Monaco while there is all this time in between races, then the track download is here:

http://www.fihsf1.net/downloads/tracks/Monaco.zip

And the fix on the mirror problem is explained as:
If you go into your .plr file (C:\<some directory>\rFactor\UserData\<your name>\<your name>.plr) and find the line 'Rearview Cull="1"' you can change the 1 to a 0 and then it should be fine, didn't seem to affect anything else for me.

Yea I haven't managed to break 1:30 out there yet. I'm close but still finding/creating a comfortable setup here now that I think I have the race line down now......Monaco, oh boy. I'm gonna need nothing short of a miracle to survive those walls. Or the tires after the tunnel

There are places in the wall that do seem like edges of corners instead of walls that are parallel to the track, and the car stops on those edges of corners with wheels flying off, as if hitting the object perpendicularly instead of contacting at a very shallow angle. I

think the track layout and artwork is much better than the tracks I've had loaded previously.

I just did a couple of quick laps,@ 1 min 23.xxx range with half fuel. And considering that I'm usually 2-3 seconds off the fastest guys, we will be seing laps in the 1 min 1x.xxx range based off that.

I really want to say, I got podium in Barcelona Preseason race... (1 lap behind) what I mean is; Complacency is Failure. We are racing drivers so we know the next race is The Event. This is the future and we willingly participate. Flyaway fan service is over. Any F1 driver knows the Line of Spain. Well maybe not after Tilke butchered the last corner. So lets fight.

Alaster,

I may not be able to do a 1 stop race with 50 laps at Spain, but I'm not sure yet, so I'll keep you posted and we can work out a schedule. Will you be on a 2 stopper?

Would you be faster, pushing the car and tires more, and doing a 2 stop, overall?

Sean,

So far as I can tell, without having managed to get the opportunity to actually run out the first stint, the 1 Stop possibility is marginal, or so close to being not possible that 2 stops will be required.

If two stops are required then I am free to move Springs that are necessarily low in front and high in the rear for minimum tire wear; as far as I can tell so far those Spring settings have to be low in front and high in the rear if the tires are going to wear evenly.

In China and in Spain, so far as I can tell, there is a need to make the car loose or the front tires will wear out first, and the total number of laps will decrease from a maximum number possible with 1 set of tires. So...to me this is the boarder line, since too loose is too risky, and too hard to drive, and the lap times are too slow for a 1 Stop race; which to me was proven at China, so far, but I am still very much in a crap shoot with the house making the rules governing the odds, so I really have no idea what is going on (brakes failing etc.)

Bahrain was a whole different game compared to China as far as tire strategy, since I had 5th place in the bag (except the obvious brake wear factor effecting everyone) with 1 Stop and it was easy in Bahrain to do one stop after having to deal with China. I chose to move rear Springs down since I could afford to do so when comparing the necessary Spring settings in China, for a 1 Stop, which I was able to do, and Bahrain which was easier, even with lower rear Springs, to make 1 Stop.

So far as I can tell Spain is worse that China for wearing out tires, but I'll know in time for the race since there is yet much time before the green flag.

If a 1 Stop is not possible, and if Alaster is set on a 3 Stopper, then 2 Stops for me sounds like a very good idea, and I have a lot of room to move Springs. If Alaster is able to do a 2 stop, then I may look into a 3 stop race and work on nothing but going faster with no need to even consider tire wear.

Unless you drop out, or some really long string of bad luck is your fate, your Red Bull team is in no danger of being out-scored by Sauber, but Alaster and I are working very close to your teamate; in case you have not noticed.
