Mary and I are celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary at the El Tovar Hotel on the south rim of The Grand Canyon. The date is June 30th so, obviously, I'll miss another race.
Sorry about missing it but, since I mistakenly used the DAMN INCORRECT RACE DATES ON THE SRH site, I've already missed enough dates to trash the season.

See you at the next one.

Hey Craig,

I and Mrs Slow are one year ahead of you on July 22. Tell your wife thanks for letting me finish ahead of you, this race.

Max out the brake disks ! You need as much as you can get. The rears wear faster, in this mod. You need the brake balance as far forward as you can drive it. 56/44 or 57/43 should work. Play with the brake pressure. 80-85% is what some are using. I know one goes even lower. Unless it's not a heavy braking track, you need pretty high brake ducts. The ducts don't have much drag, so, unless your really needing every tenth of a second, 90-100% won't hurt you.

Well, that didn't work so well.

I contacted our server host and he said it was happening all over. Near as he could tell on his servers, they would loose connection to Steam. Our rental never lost connection to the internet and I could always login. Since rF2 is a Steam product, the link has to stay up. I guess that SRH race was run before any Steam issues came up.

Here is a link that seems to back this idea up:

I had a decent start from 4th, only to be banged into and run off the road going down into turn 5 from Elisee Jean (I will have to watch replay. From there I came back on the track like in 12th position and had worked my way back up to Haynie and we both pitted on lap 29, Haynie opting to go from Medium to Hard tires, and myself, going from Hard to Soft. We were only 3.5 seconds apart entering and exiting the pits. I was much faster on the soft tires, as I had to be to make a 2 stop to his 1 stop work. I basically drove qualifying laps the rest of the race. I opened up an 18 second lead for my last stop and came out 5 seconds behind Haynie on the my last stint with 21 to go. I got past and tried to get up to Adam, but ran out of tire and laps. If it wasn't for that collision, and the excursion in the sand I would have been right up with Adam to fight for podium.

Things I've noticed, that make you go "hmmmm".
Guys racing SUPER hard that rarely finish a race.
Guys that do hot laps on the server most of their time, and don't finish a race. ( I used to be this guy back in RF1)

It looks like we have NEXT Monday open or a Monday in Sept that we could run this even again. I'll make a poll for the forum.
