rF2 doesn't have a real release date either, but at least there is "beta" and tracks and mods are being created. A.C. could end up being awesome, but at some point I have to pull the trigger for our 2013 season. Does anyone even know how much it will sell for ?

Why would they tell you that? That would be useful information. :)

If this is being made in Italy, it may takes years.

I watched a documentary on the making of Steve McQueen's " Le Mans " a few years back. They had real Porsche and Ferrari race cars to shoot, that they leased. If the Porsche needed a part, the Germans were there exactly when they said and had the car back on the track. The Ferrari repairs on the other hand... they took place when the Ferrari guys got around to it.

This was just posted on Assetto Corsa's offical Facebook page. This is great news but still does not give a very clear picture on release, which will have a ton of cars and tracks (hopefully it will accomodate our needs).
Hello there! Finally, the work on version 1.0.0 of the Assetto Corsa Technology Preview is in progress. Therefore, soon, we'll see how the Assetto Corsa engine and GUI run on thousands of PCs. As the current development build seems to be stable and smooth on different configurations in beta testing, we are cautiously optimistic. The Assetto Corsa engine already runs all day long on dozens of prof...essional simulators all around the world without issues; but gamers are a special breed, you know.
In the absence of any serious issues, we may be able to close off a public build within a short time period. And soon we will be in a position to also announce the minimum hardware requirements you will need to run Assetto Corsa.
We thank you all for your patience, we know you are looking forward to trying this build on your own PCs, but you cannot believe how many small details need to be addressed when releasing a build featuring only one car and one track.
Anyway, we would like to thank you profusely for your patience. We have a little surprise for you all: Following your suggestions, instead of using the 500 Abarth, that will be added in a future demo car list, a guest-star car will be included in this Tech Preview. We are confident that you will appreciate it; the car manufacturers in question have already sent us their approval to include it in this upcoming benchmark. It is a perfect match for the Magione racing circuit, a lightweight sportscar perfectly suited to the Autodromo Dell’Umbria’s switchbacks. We aim to offer you an enjoyable challenge, even if the Tech Preview is just a benchmark, and is not to be considered a full demo of the Assetto Corsa racing game.

Sounds like the standard run around that everyone gives, just to keep you interested. I wonder when they will start a PAY BETA. :)

Minimum PC requirements

Windows Vista / 7 / 8 Operative System
CPU: Intel Celeron
RAM: 2 Gigabytes
DirectX 11 graphics card (ex: Nvidia GTS 450 / AMD Radeon HD5770) NOTE: AC graphics engine supports also DirectX 10.1 compatible graphic cards (ATI 4800 HD / Nvidia 8600 GT)

Also, if you have NetKar PRO (bought it many years ago), you can get the demo for Assetto Corsa, yes it is out now. If you want to get the Assetto Corsa Technology Preview (AKA the demo), I think you can still buy it and then download the demo. I prefer to wait.

Hey guys, it appears Assetto Corsa is now available on steam. I'm thinking of giving it a go.

So far, the BMW GT-R type race cars and the F3 Formula Abarth are fun to drive. The feel is decent but I think there is more to be "unlocked" when the full version is released in terms of garage stuff. The tracks look and feel pretty good as well. The online and modding portions are locked so no word on that yet. I'm not sure if this is technically a demo but it has the feel of it. Apparently, the full release is very soon but we know how that goes.

I agree Josh. I hope they unlock the online racing soon, as that's were it's all at. The Abarth is fun to drive. On PRO mode, no assists, some of the cars are hard to get traction down and it's fun trying to control it sometimes. I didn't mess with setup stuff.
