Assetto Corsa

Post by JoshJ81 » Tue Apr 10, 2012 6:13 am

www.assettocorsa.net Anyone heard much or anything about this? This seems to be the next level of what rFactor 2 should be if not already. Plus there is a modding component and apparently it is not near as complicated as rFactor 2 or rFactor 1 even.

Hello
Well I never heard of them or it.
So can not even comment how it will look feel or run.

Might be worth keeping a eye out.

The makers of Assetto Corsa just released screenshots of a BMW AG 1 Series. I also found out that this sim will be fixed price, no subscriptions, free updates and a couple DLCs could be a small price. This sim is looking better and better with each passing month. rFactor2 will have a run for its money if the modding portion of Assetto Corsa is on par with rFactor 1.

Looks like Assetto Corsa is get a bunch of Bimmers!

According to Facebook, AC is going to be public to the Germans in Cologne later this month. I would think that means a release is very near. My guess would be around when F1 2012 by Codemasters is released to rival?

Again, just awesome stuff. Here is the latest from this week at GameCon in (German?).

http://www.racedepartment.com/2012/08/g ... on-videos/

Just so everyone knows, this could be the simulator for FiHSF1.net. There will be a stock F1 mod coming with this sim. There might not be a full season to plan for at the beginning but they do have great tracks for F1 already licensed (Monza and Silverstone to name a few). AC is mod'able as well. And there seems to be no hoopla about monthly pay or over pay for lifetime memberships (See iRacing and RFactor 2). RF2 is nice but we cannot go to it if there is not a full public ready version for everyone because on betas, everyone will have different problems to hard to track down and still have everyone race ready (to be fair). We have a hard enough time with mods on a stable platform as it is.

Its hard to debate, but AC seems to be our future and RF2 is still in the running. We are keeping an open mind still.

I've run netKar Pro and FVA. Both were extremely awesome. The Ferrari Academy used the F10 (2010 car) which was built with the actual Ferrari F1 team data. The car had a ton of grip and a lot of limit to find while keeping the laps times spot on. Not to mention, the tracks Mugello and Fiorano where simply amazing! Judging from their (Assetto Corsa's) F1 mod video from this week, there is a striking resemblance. 8)

Just keeps getting better! This is further proof of their affiliation with Ferrari and possible use of their F1 car in AC.

Again...this keeps getting better and better! This link is a first impression of the modding tools. Pretty, rFactor 2 has serious competition especially since the modding will be somewhat easy. Also, there seems to be talk of a full F1 mod coming as well. Generic bodies and paint but physics should be spot on. Just need a release date IMO and we are set.

A little optimistic, isn't he.

That's the problem. Hyping sims that have an open release date, is going to turn people off.
