2020 F1 Season: Round 9

Post by JohnW » Thu Jun 11, 2020 6:28 pm

Montreal, Canada

70 laps in the sunshine. I would like to try a wet race later, because I didn't take the time to plan and announce a wet race in time to be on the same schedule as SRH. Since we have a longer season than they do, I may be one of the last races. This also gives me time to hear of any rain condition issues from SRH.

I just tried to drive my own pace and stay off the walls. I started om Mediums and pushed them a few laps too long and ended up half spinning in a few places and hoping not to get nailed in blind corners. That was frustrating as I lost contact with what ever car I was trying to keep up with. I got about 3 fast laps in the 1:15 range. That's the quickest I could do.

Nothing that would warrant any penalties, just a few things that would make you go

I need to edit the blue flag distance to come out earlier, but that ,may result in sim generated penalties. I didn't realize you and Rich were so close until the bridge and pulled wide, right away, after which you both got spooked about it. You can't please the fast guys.

I wasn't referring to that incident. It did catch me off guard a bit, but you were off line so no real danger. I was referring more to my start, or my bad luck. :)

You and Rich said something like " Oh, that could have been scary " or something like that.

At any rate, the blue flag setting has been changed. I would appreciate folks lettings me know if you get the flags in practice and how soon it comes out.

I was just surprised you moved off the line there, that was all. I wasn't sure if you did it on purpose or had a problem. I was so focused on Rich in my mirror. Some times that speed differential catches you off guard a bit.
